Feria de las Flores, Boquete
The Flower and Coffee festival of Boquete is a traditional fair for this region. This is one of the best fairs in the country. Boquete is located in the highlands of the province of Chiriquí and is well-known for the production of flowers and coffee.
From January 10th to January 20th the town of Boquete receives thousands of visitors who go to enjoy the wonderful climate, admire the beauty of the plants and flowers and of course buy coffee. Feria de la ChorreraThe community of La Chorrera is a very happy and friendly one and during the fair offers a wide variety of folklore activities. During the fair in 2008 there were 594 stands displaying national and international arts and crafts as well as agricultural and animal stock shows. There is plenty of dancing events and food. The fair goes from January 16th to January 27th. Feria de San Sebastián de Ocú and Festival del Manito OcueñoOcú is a very traditional small town located in the Province of Herrera. The people from Ocú have kept their cultural heritage through the years and to celebrate their cultural hertiage they have two celebrations: Festival del Manito Ocueño (celebrated during the month of August) and the Fair of San Sebastián de Ocú (celebrated in January). During both you will be able to enjoy traditional dances and music. The fair of San Sebastián de Ocú displays local arts and crafts and animal stock. Feria de la CandelariaThe fair takes place in the town of Concepción in Bugaba. This is a fair dedicated to the production of the region of Bugaba. Just like the other fairs here you will find plenty of music, dancing, food, arts and crafts with an emphasis on live stock, agriculture and also tourism. The fair goes from January 25th to February 3rd. Carnival
Carnival in Panama is a celebrated in every part of the country. The carnival starts every year 40 days before Christian Holy Week. The most famous Carnivals are the ones in Las Tablas, La Villa de los Santos in the Province of Los Santos, the carnivals of Ocú and Chitré in the Province of Herrera, Dolega in Chiriquí, Penonomé in Coclé and in Panama City. During the morning, water tankers splash everybody with water. There is music and of course stands where people can buy food and drinks. In the afternoon there are parades with extravagant Queens, comparsas and Carnival Carts. During the evening there are concerts, dance parties and all kinds of activities. No one really sleeps, the party goes on 24 hours a day until the end of the Carnival. During this time all businesses are closed. Feria del Mar – Bocas del ToroThe Sea Fair is the most important event in the Caribbean Coast of Panama. The fair take place during the mostrainy part of the year in the rest of the country, but not in Bocas del Toro.
The fair offers a unique blend of afro-caribbean, indigenous and foreign culture. You will be able to enjoy water sports, concerts, games, concerts, presentations, and more. The fair goes from September 12th to September 21st. The Changuinola International FairThis a Commercial, Agricultural and Industrial fair that offers a variety of exhibitions from different parts of the region and Central America. During the fair you will enjoy cultural events that are characteristic of the Bocas Del Toro Province, with lots of Afro-Antillean influence. The valley of Changuinola has a very unique geography and shares together with the Province of Chiriquí and Costa Rica the La Amistad National Park. The Humedales de San San-Pond Sack Reserve is also located in Changuinola; these two natural reserves attract eco-tourism to the region. The fair goes from Sept. 23rd to Sept. 28th.
